Classic Rock Bottom

How in the world do you replace an icon like Freddie Mercury?  Or do you?  Two-thirds of the survivors of the original Queen lineup are going out on the road this year with Adam Lambert as their front man.  Brian May and Roger Taylor seem quite happy with it.  How do you feel about it?  Do you like it?  Do you hate it?  Would you prefer they tour under another band name (like Black Star Riders)?  Would you prefer they make an album of new, original music and then tour.  I would love to know your thoughts on this situation.

Don't mind the tour, but aren't there rumors of them culling their vaults for unreleased music that they want to work on and release?  I think that may be more interesting as long as its Mercury on vocals still...

It's not like I'm planning to go see them live.

But I find that I'm not all that upset about this as I might normally be. I mean, it isn't like they are pretending Lambert is Mercury or something.

I think it might be better if they toured under a different name, but I'm not losing any sleep over this one way or the other.

Absolutely not!!!!!!!

They've already done shows with Lambert, so it's kind of a moot point.

It will be Queen + Adam Lambert, like when they toured with Paul Rodgers.

I don't find him to be a really good singer, he warbles too much. However, he is a better fit on Queen material then Rodgers.

I won't even mention American Idol. Oops, I just did.

Would rather that they went with George Michael, but people will get the opportunity to see May & Taylor so that's a good thing. Too bad Deacon is retired, but he's happy.
