Classic Rock Bottom

......and this time video's from VAN HAGAR, BUSH, THE CULT, TURISAS, ENFORCER, HOUSE OF LORDS and RITCHIE KORTZEN.

BUSH - THE SOUND OF WINTHER

“The Sound Of Winter”, the new video from the reformed British alternative rock band BUSH, has been released. The song comes off the group’s new album, “The Sea Of Memories”, which will be released on September 13.

TURISAS - STAND UP AND FIGHT

Turisas is a Finnish folk metal band from Hämeenlinna. It was founded in 1997 by Mathias Nygård and Jussi Wickström and named after an ancient Finnish God of war. This is from the album "Stand Up And Fight". Century Media 2011.

ENFORCER - MIDNIGHT VICE

A video from the swedish band, Enforcer from their 2010-album "Diamonds".

HOUSE OF LORDS - SOMEDAY WHEN

And here they are!! Taken from the album "Big Money" out on Frontiers Records.Release dates: Europe: September 23rd 2011 / USA September 27th 2011.

RICHIE KOTZEN - 24 HOURS

Maybe, RJhog can tell us something about this video?

THE CULT - SHE SELLS SANCTUARY

IMO without a doubt, THE best The Cult-track ever. Later on, they wanted to be heavy-rockers, and even though, there were a couple of decent albums, they never reached the sky again.

VAN HAGAR - DON'T TELL ME (WHAT LOVE CAN DO)

From "Balance". Nice beard, Eddie.

UPS! My mistake. I thought it was a NEW John Waite-video, but I posted it way back in VOTW#36, so I'll find another one.
House of Lords - 0 points. Really disappointed in the song and the video is mostly insipid.
Damn, have to get to this. Pushing it to the top of the posts just so it won't get lost.

Bush (N/A)

No longer available, but for what it's worth, I've heard the song and I like it.

Turisas (6/10)

I don't hate it, but I don't really like it all that much either.  What's that Mel Gibson movie I'm thinkin' of?

Enforcer (7/10)

Musically, I like this a bit better, but I don't like the singer.  So I would stick it with a 6 as well, but I like the video in that they freeze frame and introduce you to the band, kind of like the beginning of a movie or a tv show, so I'll give a bonus point for that.

House Of Lords (8/10)

I don't think this is that bad.  It's the best song so far.  Didn't this band used to be Giuffria?  If so, is Greg Guiffria still in the band?  I have no clue what he looks like, but I'm guessing not.

Richie Kotzen (8/10)

I can't really give you any info on it other than it's a new song from what I think is a new album just out.  I like it.  It's definitely a little different with some cool bass playing as well as guitar work.  The video is not bad.

The Cult (10/10)

Outstanding song from a classic band.  Especially love the guitar work.  Not my favorite though.  I'd at least put Love Removal Machine, Edie (Ciao Baby) and Fire Woman in front of it.

Van Hagar (10/10)

Hey, I need to go back and listen to Balance.  This is a cool song.  And so is the video.  Eddie looks good there.  I have a feeling that's not gonna be the case if the new album ever comes out.  They are still a bunch of dumbasses for not bringing Michael Anthony back.

Mad Max
House of Lords wasn't Giuffria, but it was STARTED by Greg Giuffria. He hasn't been part of the band for years.

TURISAS ... .5 points
I'm giving them credit for being fairly melodic using a style I dont care for, and head nod towards Mad Max was pretty cool.

ENFORCER ... -1 points
Singers gotta go, whoa!  Song is really raw and sounds slapped together, if that makes sense.  The singer is actually askjing the same qusiotn I had, What's Mignight Vice?  I dont know either, and the video answered nothing.  Yuck!

HOUSE OF LORDS ... 0 points
I read Tage's review of this and at first I had to look up the word insipid.  (without distinctive, interesting, or stimulating qualities; vapid: an insipid personality.).  OK, now I can officially declare Tageryche's review as CORRECT!  The song is horrible but it has this weird monotone vibe to it, its just flat!  And I dont get the video, at all...

RICHIE KOTSEN ... 1.5 points
Kind of like this one, its not ...  oh whats the word I'm looking for ...  Insipid!  This one is distinctive and has stimulating qualities (musical qualities! just to clarify for Jon).  Cool geetars too!!!

Bush--0 points

Don't like 'em, don't have to see the video or hear the song to still not like 'em

Turisas--1 point

It's Mad Brave Maxheart! Except for the lyrics, I dug this song. What kind of rain sticks to your face? Guess it's acid rain since they're in a wasteland or something. Silly lyrics. Neat video but don't get the woman turning into a spider and then having to stand up and fight.

Enforcer--1 point

I can stand the singer to a point (maybe not a whole album?) . This is NWOBHM stuff here, some of the clothes are even from that era. Song is pretty cool. The singers not horrible but a bit too screechy.

House of Lords-0 points

Song starts of pretty darn good then it gets pretty darn, well, "insipid". And yeah, what is the video about? See how much I care? I'm stealing from Scott!

Richie Kotzen--1 point

This kind of reminds me of solo Glenn Hughes, funky and rocky. Video was there, nothing special. I don't know what's happening, but I professed my man-love for Devin Townsend and now Scott is stimulated by this song (don't hide your true feelings, Scott). What's this site turning into? Ewwwwwwwww.

Yes we digress...   Time to get back on track ....
