Do you have a "Best Of" list for 2014?

Do you think your list trumps every other list?

Well, then. Now you have the chance to post your list to show everyone else what you (rightly) believe are the highlights of 2014!

Go ahead and post them below. If someone makes fun of your list, just know that you're right and they're wrong.

If you want to post a list about something other than music, go right ahead. Just don't post anything silly.

Enjoy!

Worst Albums:

1. Robert Plant--Lullaby And..The Ceaseless Roar

2. Bigelf--Into The Maelstrom

3. Sonata Arctica--Pariah's Child

Top 10 Albums:

1. Big Wreck - Ghosts

2. Billy Idol - Kings & Queens Of The Underground

3. Kyng - Burn The Serum

4. Uriah Heep - Outsider

5. Night Ranger - High Road

6. Whiskey Myers - Early Morning Shakes

7. Space Elevator - Space Elevator

8. Winger - Better Days Comin'

9. Wishbone Ash - Blue Horizon

10. Cage The Gods - Badlands

I'm not very much of a metal guy anymore, never have been to be honest, but here are my Top 5 Metal Albums:

1. Kyng - Burn The Serum - This is easily the best for me.  Terrific playing and cool vocals.  Very melodic for a "metal" band.

2. Black Label Society - Catacombs Of The Black Vatican - Surprisingly to me, this was enjoyable.  My biggest complaint regarding ZW is his playing, he shreds to much, not enough meoldy for me.

3. Edguy - Space Police: Defenders Of The Crown - This one made a charge late in the year.

4. Monte Pittman - The Power Of Three - Underrated, probably because he plays for Madonna.

5. Judas Priest - Redeemer Of Souls - I'm somewhat new to JP, but this was pretty good.  The guitars were killer, but I thought the production was week.

Top three male vocalists:

1. Ian Thornley (Big Wreck)

2. Peter Comerford (Cage The Gods)

3. Jack Blades/Kelly Keagy (Night Ranger)

Thornley by a mile, but Blades and Keagy are still going strong.

Top 10 Guitarists:

1. Ian Thornley (Big Wreck)

2. Jam (Cage The Gods)

3. Mick Box (Uriah Heep)

4. Joe Bonamassa

5. Eddie Veliz (Kyng)

6. Brad Gillis/Joel Hoekstra (Night Ranger)

7. John Wesley

8. Andy Summers (Circa Zero)

9. Richie Faulkner/Glenn Tipton (Judas Priest)

10. Aki Reissmann/Selly Bernhardt (Miracle Master)

Here's one I don't think anyone has put up yet:

Top NEW-TO-ME bands of the year.

(Basically, the band can be either an established or brand new band that you've never heard anything from until this year).

1. Sabaton

2. Massive

3. The Dead Daisies

4. Alter Bridge

5. Black Stone Cherry

I'll do a Top 10 New-To-Me Bands of 2014:

1. Space Elevator

2. Cage The Gods

3. Miracle Master

4. John Wesley

5. Noah Gundersen

6. Umphrey's Mc'gee

7. Circa Zero

8. Work Of Art

9. Royal Blood

10. Monte Pittman

I'm actually going to update this one. Since I hadn't ever knowingly listened to their music before, I'm putting Uriah Heep on the list and bumping off Black Stone Cherry.

New list reads as:

1. Sabaton

2. Uriah Heep

3. Massive

4. The Dead Daisies

5. Alter Bridge

Top 3 Female Vocalists:

1. The Duchess (Space Elevator)

2. Taylor Momsen (The Pretty Reckless)

3. Stevie Nicks

Best Drummer:

1. Russell Gilbrook (Uriah Heep)

2. Pepe Clark (Kyng)

3. Ray Luzier (KXM)

Top 2 Bassists:

1. Dave McMillan (Big Wreck) - The bass work on the title track alone of Ghosts would be enough.

2. Dave Rimmer (Uriah Heep)

For my best of movies for 2014, I only saw 11 movies that came out this year. The one not making my top ten list is Sabotage, an Arnold Schwarzenegger action flick. There are 2 movies that came out this year that I haven't seen yet but plan to: Gone Girl and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.

As for my actual top 10 movies:

10. 300: Rise of an Empire - Probably won't watch ever again though.

09. Edge of Tomorrow - Military Sci-Fi version of Groundhog Day.

08. Draft Day - Kevin Costner as a Cleveland Browns GM who actually makes the team better, so total fantasy film here.

07. Life Itself - Documentary on film critic Roger Ebert.

06. The Equalizer - Denzel Washington action flick, it was okay but entirely too long.

05. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 - Better than 1st film, not as good as 2nd, decent overall.

04. Veronica Mars - Loved the TV show, loved the movie, loved the follow up original novel. I'm such a Marshmallow.

03. X-Men: Days of Future Past - Another X-Men movie done right (unlike first three films).

02. Guardians of the Galaxy - Flipping fantastic!

01. Captain America: The Winter Soldier - All the best aspects of a 1970's political thriller and modern day superhero film. Simply magnificent film.

Veronica Mars was a chore to sit thru. Bored me beyond belief. I never watched the show, so maybe that had something to do with it. Very annoying characters.

Rise Of An Empire was ok, liked it better than the first one. Probably because this one had Eva Green.

I have 5/10, I will pass on Hunger Games and any other YA adaptation, thank you very much. Draft Day holds no interest since it's about foosball, I'll wait on The Equalizer and Life Itself to hit HBO or something.

Other than Edge Of Tomorrow, our lists have nothing in common. Huzzah!

Jon,

If you didn't watch the show, yes Veronica Mars wouldn't mean very much to you. For those of us who did and those that contributed nearly 5 million bucks to help get the film made, it was a fantastic.

The first 300 movie is far and away better than Rise of an Empire. I haven't read the Hunger Games books or anything, I just checked out the movies.
