I'm having real problems figuring out my opinion on the W.A.S.P. CD.

W.A.S.P.--Thumbs Down. Really way, WAY down. 

Ya know, I thought W.A.S.P sucked in '84 when their first album came out. Technically, I should have liked it since I was supposed to like everything metal, but I realized that they were really, REALLY crappy. Wait a bunch of years, BMG music club is shutting down and they're getting rid of stock for insane prices and I picked up "Neon God Part 1" or whatever it was. Good golly, that album sucked poo. It was horrible and made me realize why I never bothered to pick up anything else after their debut. Now I'm being forced to listen to them again and guess what? Yep, they still suck. I did realize something though, and that's Blackie Lawless kinda sounds like a cheap imitation of Meat Loaf, and not a good imitation at that. Please, no more W.A.S.P. Even 10 years or so between listening to them isn't enough.

Ugly Kid Joe--Thumbs 3/4 up

I think I kinda liked their previous album, or at least the songs from it I heard. I mean, I'm really not supposed to like them since they were kind of a joke band at the beginning, right? There's some funny lyrics on the first song here and it is kinda repetitive and the vocals seem a bit off, but it is enjoyable. The next two are good, but it's the fourth song that really stands out, it verges on prog territory. From UKJ? Who woulds thunk! But then I remember I do have their second album and it's pretty darn good. I forgot about that until now. The last song is also quite good, but it seems like at any moment they were going to put it into overdrive but didn't......until the beginning after the end of the song. See? I knew that was going to happen but they kept me waiting. Brilliant. BRILLIANT!!!!!!

WASP ... Two Thumbs even

Is this supposed to be the newly Christianized version of WASP?  I've always struggled with this band as well.  I own nothing from them.  Though I know my school friend Kip on Facebook is a huge fan.  Its not the music as some of it feel nice, like the keyboard work on the first track, sounds great, the beat is nice and really there's nothing bad to say, except the vocal work.  And that's where I get lost in this, same as before. It is different to hear the lyrical content be this religious, especially from Blacky, for me it is a surprise. Good for him though!  I'm gonna pass on this ...

BUTT UGLY KID MEAN JOE GREENE ...Two Thumbs flashing back to a bad time period

Eh...  I guess its opposite week for me and Jon.  This is not inspiring at all, and really puts me back into the late 90's and that's not a good place musically.
