Classic Rock Bottom

WHAT CLASSIC ROCK (OR JUST PLAIN ROCK) ARE YOU LISTENING TO?

So what are you listening to right now?  Any genre is cool.

"Songs From The Sparkle Lounge" - Def Leppard    Recently just bought this at the used CD store, and glad I did! It really is a "popish" record, but I like it! Excellent production...everything sounds great, especially the guitars. It's pop...but it's Power Pop! Full of typical Def Leppard sing-a-long choruses, but still a "different feel" to this record. I'm very impressed with it! (will be in medium rotation, for sure).

"Cult Classic" - Blue Oyster Cult     Cities On Flame With Rock-n-Roll...indeed!! This greatest hits collection has "Dont Fear The Reaper" and "Godzilla" on it twice. First time it is the "regular" track, then at the end of the disc, they have these two songs in "TV mix"....no vocals! Were these two songs featured in an old "Miami Vice" episode, or something? Anyone know, or aware of where, or why, these two vocal-less tracks come from?

Regarding Def Leppard, the song Cruise Control is completely awesome in it's pop"ness".

Have n't heard it enough yet to remember specific tracks, but I'll go back and check this track out again that you mention.
The last song, whatever the name of it is. Doesn't it sound like High n Dry era Def Leppard? Doesn't it?
And the Cult Classic album....the album was a tie-in to "The Stand", all those songs are re-recordings. The instrumentals were also used in "The Stand" if my memory serves me correctly.
Thanks Jon. You know, I was listening to this Cult Classic disc and it definitely sounded different from other versions...and now I know why.

Today:

Deepfield - Archetypes & Repitition

Atomic Tom - The Moment

Counting Crows - Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings

Saving Abel - Miss America

ZO2 - Ain't It Beautiful

I'm impressed!  Atomic Tom has stuck with you!  I skimmed through it on the plane a couple weeks ago also.  Cool band!  But theyve been quiet lately, hope they are still together, I would love to hear new music from them soon.
Most definitely.  That is a fantastic album, and I'll send my thanks out to you for posting it in NMC.  As a matter of fact, I've got a little something planned before long that will mention that album again.  Stay tuned.
And Scott, I forgot to say that 3 songs from the Atomic Tom album are now in my revised "Easy Listening" playlist on my iPod.
Skipped around my Judas Priest collection this week. Screaming for Vengeance, Turbo, British Steel, Ram It Down and Painkiller.
Yesterday at work was Shannon Curfman, Melissa Etheridge and Accept.
