DAVID LEE ROTH On New VAN HALEN Material - "You’ll Be Hearing From Us In The Next 7-8 Months"

Rumours continue to run rampant about VAN working on their first full studio album since 1998’s Van Halen III, which featured vocals by EXTREME singer Gary Cherone. With David Lee Roth back in the fold, 2007 produced the largest grossing Van Halen tour in history, so the timing couldn't be more ripe. And here's more fuel for the fire.
According to the VAN HALEN News Desk, this past Sunday, September 5th, was the 145th annual Scottish Gathering & Games in Pleasanton, . VHND reader Doug Lyle attended the event and happened to run into Roth who had a dog entered in the Sheepdog trials!

Lyle asked him if he was still with VH and if they were doing anything more. He gave him a knowing smile and said, “You’ll be hearing from us in the next seven-eight months."

For me, it has just become a situation where Van Halen is a joke. A TMZ band rather than a real rock band.

And honestly, David Lee Roth in the band now is another strike against them. I'd much rather have Van Hagar with Sammy and Michael Anthony in the band.

I second the Michael Anthony part of that, but I am interested in seeing what DLR can do (my hopes aren't really high).

I have no belief that, outside of major studio technological wizardry, David Lee Roth will do much of anything except embarrass himself and make VH fans cringe.
