I'm starting a new thread. It's called "Smash or Trash"? It's quite simple. Just listen to the two songs I post and give your honest opinion. Is it a "Smash", or is it "Trash"?
I'll post a classic song (something released before 1995) and a more current song (something released since 1995). Hopefully you'll vote on both. A song must have more "smash" votes than "trash" votes to be a smash (in other words, a tie means it is not a smash, it is trash). A song must receive a minimum of 3 votes to qualify as a smash or trash. I'll try to post only album cuts, no singles. Of course, that doesn't mean you've never heard the song that's posted.
And finally, I'm gonna try to do 2 posts per week, and each post will be within this same thread. We'll see how this goes. After we get enough smashes, I'll probably add a playlist to the IMHO forum.
Joe Lynn Turner : SMASH!!! I've allways loved his voice. This is a very good song. I don't think I've heard it before. GREAT to hear a good song, with one of your favorite singers, that you have'nt heard before!!
Fuel: TRASH. This is a booring song. I don't care, if I ever hear it again.
Joe Lynn Turner - Smash - Always loved Joe Lynn Turner and though this album gets a bit downgraded by people for being way way commercial, I thought it was pretty darn good.
Fuel - Trash - I simply have never gotten into this band.
Dreams So Real: Gotta side with Jon on this one, TRASH. Heavy Glow: I liked the guitar, but the overall tune was not good enough to carry it. TRASHing this one to.

Dreams So Real--Trash
Too much like REM which I guess would make sense back in '88. And they're from Georgia too, so it make more sense. Not a bad song, but leans more towards trash than smash.
Heavy Glow--Trash
Nothing good to say about this song. Just didn't appeal to me at all.
