How 'bout some Billy Squier this week. Don't Say No is his 1981 release. Truth be told, I wasn't much of a Billy Squier fan in the 80's. I have more of an appreciation for him now. We all know that a little video totally tanked his career, but that's neither here nor there. This album totally rocks. If you haven't heard it, check it out here by clicking the link above. And if you have heard it, share your feelings regarding it. Everybody wants to know how you feel. I promise.
As always, below are some facts and observations concerning the album. The facts are from Wikipedia and the observations are from yours truly.
Tracklist:
1. In The Dark
2. The Stroke

Huh?
I've had a lot of problems with it skipping tracks. I just go back to it until it plays.
The first time I heard this album was at a friends friend's house. He lived in the basement and had his records alphabetized, lined up against the walls (if that makes sense). I had never seen som many albums in my life and this was when I was basically newer to rock, but he was my hero. Hell, he even made us a couple Tom Collins so he introduced me to alcohol.
Anyway, he introduced us to this album claiming that it would be a huge hit. And he was right on the money. He also had a bunch of AC/DC and I thought they were a new band, but he thought they were the coolest. Stupid story, I know.
But, I also remember some guy in High School got a brand new tape deck in his car and he wanted to show us how awesome and loud this thing could get, so we went out the parking lot and he CRANKED "Lonely Is The Night". It sounded incredible, and I got it in my head that one day I would also have an awesome car stereo just so I could crank that one song.
And that's all I got. Classic album.
