Though recently snubbed by the powers-that-be at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, the mighty Deep Purple are rolling full speed ahead and have announced new details concerning their long awaited new album. According to Blabbermouth, their 19th studio album will see the light of day on April 26, 2013. It is being released by the German based label earMUSIC. The band’s last studio effort dates back to 2005′s  ‘Rapture Of The Deep’ so this is a long time coming.

This will make album number four to feature Steve Morse on guitar and the third with keyboardist Don Airey. As previously reported, concrete information on the album title is, shall we say, up in the air. “There’s a big question mark over the name at the moment. And possibly an exclamation mark as well.” vocalist Ian Gillan told Classic Rock magazine. Hmm, wonder if it has anything to do with ? & the Mysterians!

The band recorded and mixed the album in Nashville, Tenn. with legendary producer Bob Ezrin and is rumored to be “the perfect match from the original spirit of ’70s Purple, and a fresh and modern production” according to the label. Details will soon be revealed by earMUSIC on a special website where all band members will also be able to post and interact with the fans: www.deeppurple2013.com.
