FOOTBALL THREAD

I just realized that we don't have a football thread. So I'm starting one. Use it as you will. Here are some football thoughts from me:

1. I prefer NCAA football to the NFL, but I do keep up somewhat with the NFL.

2. My team is the Georgia Bulldogs, as I graduated from UGA.

3. Of course, living in Georgia, the Atlanta Falcons are my favorite pro team.

4. Probably my favorite non-Atlanta all time team would be the Miami Dolphins, specifically the Larry Csonka era.

5. My favorite all-time player is Herschel Walker.

6. My first college football game was in 1975, UGA beat Clemson 35-7.

7. I saw the Georgia-Vandy game when Herschel Walker set his personal single game yardage record of 283.

8. I think the Superbowl is overrated, but I usually watch it.

9. The team I most like to see suffer is the Florida Gators.

LOL,I forgot about the National Championship in College Football and didn't even see a play.

My picks for this weekend: I was 3-1 on my picks last weekend (though the Chiefs would beat the Colts, but accurately picked the Chargers upset over the Bengals)

The Seahawks in a close one over the Saints

New England over the Colts

SF over Carolina (Carolina manhandled the 49ers offensive line the last time which was shocking since the 49ers may have the best line in the league). The 49ers are clicking now though I would like to see the Panthers win because Deangelo Williams played for Memphis in college football and is a great guy

Denver over San Diego but I am shaky on this one. As great as Manning is (and he had had a magical season), something always seems to happen to him in the playoffs. The Denver defense is a little shaky and Rivers is 2-0 vs Manning in the playoffs but I predict Manning wins this one, setting up another showdown vs Brady. I predict that championship game will be the highest rated Championship game ever.
