So far, so good.
We're still "touring" (again, for "the fans") and there hasn't been any of his normal shenanigans. We perform, we finish and I take off. Simple as that.
Almost had a setback though when he requested that the chocolate be removed from the peanut butter M&M's in the dressing room. He just wanted the peanut butter so it's a good thing someone mentioned Reese's Pieces. Can't imagine a poor roadie having to suck out all the chocolate from a tiny M&M, but that's what I have to deal with.
With that out of my system, we can get to this week's L/F album, the self-titled 1975 release from Paris featuring Bob Welch (ex-Fleetwood Mac), Glenn Cornick (former bassist for Jethro Tull) and Thom Mooney (former drummer for Nazz).
When you listen you'll notice that this is a huge departure from Fleetwood Mac and solo Bob Welch in that it's hard rock. Almost Zeppelinish in it's heaviness. I read a rumor that Jimmy Page produced this album under a pseudonym, but don't know if it's true. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't.
One more album followed about a year later and that was it for Paris.
And then came 1977.....
Paris
1. Religion
2. Black Book
3. Starcage
4. Beautiful Youth

6. Narrow Gate (La Porte Etroite)
7. Solitaire
8. Breathless
9. Rock Of Ages
10. Red Rain
Availability: OOP, but can be found for around $23.

Not a bad listen at all. I can't say anything really stood out to me, but your description of "Zeppelinish in it's heaviness" is right on the money. Right down to the vocals.
Who was the vocalist? It doesn't sound like Welch to me.
Not a bad listen, Ive been picking at it while Im puttin together this weeks SHT list. I cant say its great and I cant sayt its bad. I liked Starcage and Nazarene tracks the best, but Im not sure why, I did dig the geetar sound he was using on the album though.
The vocalist sounds alot like Bob Welch for some reason, hmmm... Now that lady in red? SMOKIN'!!!
I listened to this twice today here at work...so could not really crank it up, but I thought this was pretty good! Next time I'm here at the office by myself, I'll listen to this again the right way!! KER-RANKED UP LOUD!!!
Wait...seriously? You like this? Even with the FM tie-in?
That's a nice pic...
