Classic Rock Bottom

Well, here we go again. Yet another one of my IMHO-list's.

For no reason at all, I just felt like making a list with some music from the 90's. Now, this ain't especially my favorites from that decade. If I made a list of my favorites, you would probably have heard most of the tracks many times. You have probably also heard (some of?) these tracks before, but maybe some are new to you?! Either way, take a listen, if you feel like it. I know, I'll take a listen once more:

1. BOB MOULD - NEW#1

2. TOOL - FOTY SIX & TWO

3. RADIOHEAD - BLACK STAR

4. THE LEMONHEADS - IF I COULD TALK I'D TELL YOU

5. MARILYN MANSON - DISASSOCIATIVE

6. FOO FIGHTERS - X-STATIC

7. NINE INCH NAILS - WE'RE IN THIS TOGETHER

8. BETTER THAN EZRA - LONG LOST

9. SMASHING PUMPKINS - BY STARLIGHT

10. DEPECHE MODE - BARREL OF A GUN

11. PEARL JAM - IN HIDING

12. GENESIS - FADING LIGHTS

Ugggggghhhhhh!  I just typed a bunch of stuff out and lost it.  I'll try again, but in parts.

Bob Mould - I've never heard of this guy, but I like this song a lot.  This is the best one on this playlist, in my opinion.  This would sound great on the Acoustic Music page.

Tool -  I like this too.  Tool has a very unique sound, and I like it.

Radiohead - This is a band that I don't understand the fuss about.  I don't know their music, but I don't care for this song at all.

The Lemonheads - I'd call this average.  It's definitely not bad.  Makes me think of The Counting  Crows.

Marilyn Manson - Don't like this band.  This song doesn't help their cause with me.

Foo Fighters - I do like this band.  This is a song I've never heard, and I like it.  I think I even have this CD, but have yet to listen to it.  I'll have to fix that.  Can't wait to get the new CD today, how do you like it so far Niels?

As far, as I remember, and I usually have a good memory, Bob Mould was the singer for the band Hüsker dü, an american band, even though their name means "Do you remember" in DANISH!!

I agree about the Radiohead, that is today, but they have made 2 (imo) classic cd's This one and one of the best cd's from the 90's: OK Computer. Nowadays, they really suck. It's like: "Do you also like this one, you stupid bastards, who buy's our cd's".

I think that the first Foo Fighter's album is their best. I do believe, that Grohl plays most of the instrument's himself, and that's really impressing. Just like Paul McCartney and maybe Pete Townshend have done/could do.

I have'nt heard the new one yet. I got it yesterday, but I'm really impresed with the UFO-"best of" album, I've also just bought, so I'm only listening to that, at the moment, but I've read a few reviews, where they get 9 out of 10 and stuff.

Thanks for listening and writing, RJhog.

Bob Mould also had his second band SUGAR in the 90's. Rip roaring stuff. FYI Dave Grohl did play everything on the Foo Fighters debut, except on X-static Greg Dulli plays guitar. Is it me or does the opening of that song sound like a song by Ted Nugent that I cant think of. Or is it just me?
Don't know,, if it's just you. I can't say, that I know that Ted Nugent-song.Thanks for the respons to my list.

Okay, here's the rest:

Nine Inch Nails - This is another band that I don't "get".  I don't care for this song.

Better Than Ezra - This isn't bad.  I'd say maybe average.  It reminds me of REM a little bit.  I don't think it's great, but I would have no problem listening to this.

Smashing Pumpkins - I'm beginning to sound like a broken record, but I don't get this band's popularity either.  I can't say I've heard much of anything by them, but songs like this would be why.  I don't care for it.

Depeche Mode - I like a couple of their songs, but this wouldn't be one of them.  It doesn't really work for me.

Pearl Jam -  This is a strange band for me.  I really liked Ten, but not too much since then.  I'm not familiar with this song but I'd say it's at least average, so I could definitely listen to it.

Genesis - This is okay, a little on the slow/boring side, but okay.  If you hadn't told me this was from the 90's, I'd probably think it was early Genesis.

Interesting playlist Niels.  I have to say that the 90's is a very hit and miss (probably more of a miss) for me musically.  I certainly do like some stuff, and could probably come up with my own 90's Best Of if I tried really hard.  Thanks for posting.

This was pretty good (even FF and PJ), with Rjhog and don't understand why Radiohead is all that and a bag of chips. I have the greatest hits CD and that's enough for me. The only song I didn't like was by The Lemonheads, I think The Boston Baked Beans did a better version.
