Classic Rock Bottom

Let's get some song battles going.  I'll start us off with two songs.  After that, the rules are as follows:

1.  Whoever sets the battle cannot pick the winner.

2.  Anyone else can pick the winner.  That person is responsible for putting up the next challenger against the previous winner.  This is a first come, first serve exercise.

3. Genre is irrelevant and it doesn't matter if it's a famous song or a hidden gem.

4. Repeat until everybody tires of this.

Rick Springfield - The Invisible Girl

vs.

The Rockfords - Adelaide

Easily The Rockford's tune is the better of the two, but really both aren't very good...

So,I just pick what song I like the best?

And then what happens?

The idea was for you to pick the best song, then re-post it with a new challenger.  But I think that may be too much work. I'm gonna kill this thread 'cause I have another idea that will be easier.  Check back in with me this evening.

Nah, keep this. This might turn out to be fun! I haven't listened yet, will get to it in the next couple days. Can get some obscure songs out of this. Of course, if you have something BETTER.......

Well, so far, nobody has followed the rules.  The idea is to listen to the two songs, pick which one is best to you, then post a challenger.  But maybe I should change the rules.  If you chime in with the one you think is best, you can actually post two new songs against each other.  The whole idea is for whoever posts the winner to post two new songs.  Does this make any sense at all?

So, technically, since Scott was the first to reply, he should post two new songs for someone else to pick a winner.

I think if we were to limit it classic rock songs it might work.

Van Hagar vs DLR
Ratt vs Warrant

Etc...

These two tracks didn't really spark any ideas for follow on discussions... Then agin maybe it's just me

Rockford's tune wins for me as well.

In case you are interested, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam is one of the two guitarists on the Rockford's track.

Okay, due to lack of interest, this thread is closed.  I've got one more idea to throw at you...
