Classic Rock Bottom

Up next in the catalog review series is Judas Priest.  I bought the band's "Complete Albums" box set a year or two ago, and now it's time to listen to it and review it.  There are a couple of things worth noting here.  First, I've never been a Judas Priest fan before, so these short, mini-reviews will be from someone who is new to the vast majority of this band's music.  Second, the box set does not include the albums with Tim "Ripper" Owens on lead vocals, but I will purchase or listen to those as well and include them in the catalog review.  I believe the box set has two live albums and those will be included as well.

As has been the pattern, I will continually update a running list ranking the albums we cover.  As a new feature, I will pick at least one, but no more than two songs from each album to build an Ultimate Judas Priest Playlist.  I know that your rankings and your song picks may very well differ from mine, so I urge you to play along and keep your own ranking and playlist.  I certainly love to read your thoughts as well, which, along with pushing me to listen to these albums, is the whole purpose of this catalog review.

One more thing to remember.  Because I'm not familiar with most of the music, the album reviews may come quickly or slowly.  We will see how this goes.  And if you are curious, I'm thinking about covering Blue Oyster Cult next.  I hope you enjoy this musical exercise.
