Have you ever wondered what certain songs would have sounded like if they had been sung by a different band member?  For instance, Paul wrote Hard Luck Woman, but Peter sang it.  How would the original have sounded with Paul on vocals.  Okay, I'm cheating a bit here because we got to hear it on the MTV Unplugged show, but hopefully you follow what I'm asking.

 

Name a couple of songs that you wouldn't have minded having a different band member sing (this is not to say you don't like the original, just something you'd like to hear an alternate take of, like on some of the remasters where they add bonus tracks).  My choices are:

 

1. Parasite - Ace singing instead of Gene

2. Black Diamond - Paul singing the whole song

3. Young And Wasted - Eric Carr singing instead of Gene

4. Strange Ways - Ace singing instead of Peter

5. Goodbye - Peter singing instead of Paul (I know this is a reach because it's off of Paul's solo album, but I've always thought it would have made a great song for Peter to sing.

You picked a couple of the good ones: Parasite and Strange Ways, I totally agree on those two. Hmmmmm, let's see:

1. God Of Thunder - Paul instead of The Demon

2. Getaway - Ace instead of Peter

3. Cold Gin - Ace instead of Gene

Good call on GOT.  Have you heard the demo with Paul singing that was on the Kiss Box Set?

 

Agree totally on Cold Gin, but Getaway just doesn't seem like an Ace song to me at all.  Still, it would be interesting to hear.
