ROCKOLLECTIONS: 1967 AND THE SUMMER OF LOVE PT.3

Two weeks ago, I opened the show with a song about 1967 and The Summer Of Love.
This time I will open with a song about 1967 and The Summer Of Love.
There are quite a few of them.
Last time by a guy named John, this time by a guy named John!
After that, I will pretty much be playing HITS...you read me?...HITS...ME, lol!
Songs that were popular on both the AM and FM sides of the Radio Dial in 1967.
Catch it while you can, I hate being just a jukebox!
But are they good music?
Oh yeah- you bet your sweet bippy!  (See Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In.)

Here's the link to a nice place to visit, and I'd really like to live there, at WLSO.FM:

I was never that proud.  It was my basic philosophy!

Hahahahahahaha...I understand.

You got a shot at some pseudo-model, you play it any way you can!

Thanks for going there.

How did you like it at Soundcloud?
I think I may emphasize Podomatic and make it my home, but I am interested in what you guys think about the other place.

Actually I never used Love The One You're With.

You know why?
Think about it...I would be selling myself short!

The one you really want to be with ain't here, so how about me?
Not for the proud Da Love Man Pell, LOL!

Done.  Same comment is copied on Soundcloud.  Hey, if you used that song to pick up women, I'm sure you used "Love The One You're With"!

RJ,
I thought you were MIA...I was even wearing a bracelet with your name on it, LOL!
I really like that last one I played by the Grassroots, Things I should Have Said, mainly because I haven't heard it to death.
We have to talk about that sometime, songs that have been heard too often, and being almost ruined in the process.
That's precisely what is so wrong with radio these days.
Ah, but I remember a different time, which is what I am trying to re-create in this 1967 series!
Actually, I am ALWAYS trying to re-create that!
I liked all those songs though, and particularly Let's Live For Today- special to me, because later on in my life I would use that line that to get women to...well you know, lol!                                                                      Plus I love playing songs people always liked but haven't heard in ages, that's one of the biggest rewards I get from doing the show.
Most ignored kickass rocker from start to finish for me in there...Gimme Some Lovin' by Spencer Davis Group!
That one STILL makes me get up and dance, lol!
I commend your good taste with the Golden Pell awarded to John Fogerty for Summer Of Love, since you had heard almost all the other songs.
Fogerty may never have been the most technical of guitarists, but he sure could/can rock you to your bones.
I have one more real good one about that Summer Of Love topic I am saving, maybe the best of all.
Have another one about A Summer Of Love, any summer and a love song, I might play.
Real glad you persevered and found it, and if you think that site looks nice, and I prefer it myself, I found yet another place to post.
Check this out if you get a chance, and gimme a short rating- this is the same episode you just heard, so I don't expect you to listen all the way through unless you want to hear the Grassroots again, lol:

Thanks for listening and writing, happy you escaped your captors, lol!

Nice show Mike.  It took me a while to get to it, but finally.  Anyway,  the new home looks nice, and that's where I downloaded the show from.

Some very nice songs you played here.  The only ones new to me were the first and the last two.  Obviously, one of those will take home the Golden Pell.

I did wanna say that I really enjoyed hearing Let's Live For Today.  Haven't heard it in a while and I always liked that song.

Now, for the big moment, the Golden Pell is awarded to John Fogerty for Summer Of Love.  What a great tune.  The guitar is ferrocious.  Great call on that one.

Never mind the rest, you had that BONUS TRACK in there, that extra guy singing, lol!

What's this mean?

and now realize that, truly, '67 had GREAT FRIGGIN' MUSIC! But now it's kind of anti-climactic dammit!

The series is continuing!

Have you tried that new site yet?

Well crap...I listened to the rest (skipped over that extra guy singing!) and now realize that, truly, '67 had GREAT FRIGGIN' MUSIC! But now it's kind of anti-climactic dammit!

Good...now it won't take you by surprise, and scare the crap out of you, lol!

By the way, have you purchased my new album?

I have a serious matter to discuss with you and a couple of the other guys about my leaving WLSO next week.

I'll send a private letter to you all.

Yes, the warning would have worked. Now that I have that bad taste out of my head, I can now listen to the show again, post "singing" of course.
