Classic Rock Bottom

I sat down to do the final Time Show and as happens occasionally, I changed my mind.
The result, the First EVER Easter shows!
The impetus for this is the coming shutting down in June of the Terrestrial Station I am in my 18th year with.
For them, it’s now or never with an Easter attempt- I’ll not have another chance.
But what could I PLAY for Easter?
Some of the fun for me when I get a hasty impulse for a show is the scurrying around digging out songs- their number grows larger as I grow into the topic.
Oddly, Passover is usually around the same time as Easter.
I would have included it, but it is next month!
Join me for a non-preachy Musical visit to this Most Spiritual Time Of Year!
Hey you know me, we'll have a good time!

Jon,
NO BUNNY SONGS for Easter, lol!
This is serious business, and not that easy, so no Bunny Hop you nut, lol!
However I am hiding aural Easter eggs in the shows, see if you can get all 31!
This is nice, so you, "Sorry about your station shutting down in June. Probably belated, but the hell with it."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Yeah, I didn't realize Bazilian wrote so many songs for others.
That was a tape I played, a bootleg I believe, but I can't remember how or where I got it!
I have had it a pretty long time and played it on the show before..
Next stop on the elevator, the bunny and egg department, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

RJ,
Easter is a great time for family and friends, and I like the ham or lamb for dinner.
When I was a kid I thought there really WAS an Easter Parade but could never find it, lol!
But that first song covered everything, kinda fun except for that group that doesn't belong in there!
The Mellencamp song just jumped out at me, thought it would make a nice segue.
Bill Elliott & The Elastic Oz Band was a spoof of the Plastic Ono Band- and endorsed by John & Yoko, they did write that song for them.
I think they did another song called God Save Oz- it was a wonderful fun time to be so young back then, lol!
That 4th was the original One Of Us, the hit for Joan Osborne by it's writer Eric Bazilian.
Besides Dylan, he referenced the Beatles, and the famous John line so many thought was "I buried Paul", but Lennon always said was "Cranberry sauce", lol!
And the Golden Pell winner is Dion. for Let Go, Let God.
I am a huge Dion fan, so I dig that, but any of these could have won it.
The Buffy Ste. Marie song was weird, but I love it!
A number of people wrote me it scared them, LOL!
I may play it again in the middle of something else!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

I dunno, but I guess you could play bunny songs for Easter.

Maybe something from Helloween's Rabbit Don't Come Easy. Or maybe "The Bunny Hop".

Hey, you could even do songs about eggs! Maybe something from Wings' Back To The Egg.

Man, I am chock full of wonderful ideas!

Sorry about your station shutting down in June. Probably belated, but the hell with it.

Eric Bazilian is still with The Hooters, they did release an album around 10 years ago but still tour, mainly overseas. He probably did leave the group for awhile when the band was on hiatus or whatever. He's written a lot of songs that have been covered by other artists.

Anyway, nice show even though it was lacking in the bunny and egg department. Maybe the next show will cover those.......

Dude, I like Easter.  I'm guessing you do to.  We go to First Baptist church of Augusta every Easter morning (we are not members there).  Then we go to eat breakfast at a local buffet.  Yep, same thing every year.  But it's great family time.

Anyway, I thought that first song would never end.  Seemed like it was twenty minutes long.  I do like that Mellencamp song.  I have that album.

Bill Elliott?  I thought he was a former NASCAR driver...And by the way, you said something about Lennon writing it or something.  And it sounded like something he and Yoko would have done.

Can't remember what the fourth track was, but I did notice the Dylan impression.

Dion's song, Let Go, Let God was very nice.  That's your Golden Pell winner right there.  That guitar was nice.

And that Buffy St. Marie song was weird, but still cool.  I liked it.

Nice job brother.
