Classic Rock Bottom

As I mentioned in the opening Chapter, my understanding of the The Rat Race is not the same as the Dictionary definition.
To me it is just having to go to Work.
And to me, the absolute worst thing about Working, a Job, The Rat Race, is that the damn thing starts in the Morning!
So that will be the Main Topic of Musical Conversation this stop along the way.
That and a couple of Welcomes!
Oh, and a song I searched for years to find and finally caught up with.
Join me, I think you'll enjoy this one.

RJ,
I know the feeling, but you don't mean MY Rat Race, right, lol?
LT, Harry Nilsson, then Morphine...you seem surprised - do you know that group?
It's the only song I really know by them.
No question, Dolly writes great songs!
As for the movie, like I told Jon, I haven't seen Nine To Five, or maybe I did drunk and don't remember.
And Elvis Costello gets the Golden Pell again!
On his early albums all the songs are short, that one is less than 2 minutes- so you like him in small doses.
I immediately thought of Pink Floyd before I even played Costello, just looking at the title of the Elvis song- you could almost SEE my brain working on that segue, lol!
Thanks for the "nice show", and listening and writing,
Mike

Jon,
Hey, do you know you are annoying, lol?
Yes get that Harry Nillson album.
I like that Morphine song a lot, from the 1st time I heard it.
Oddly, I haven't seen Nine To Five, or maybe I did drunk and don't remember.
You should have ALL Kinks albums...for a complete collection, lol!
Elvis Costello has made a lot of decent music,
There was nothing different about the Floyd song- but one reason I don't play them or Zeppelon much is they are played to death on Classic Rock.
But that seemed like a segue too good to pass up.
Searched for years for that Lothar And The Hand People album, think it's from 1968, only heard the song once or twice but it stayed with me all those years.
I can see Devo taking from that song, but not others on the album, like the very hippie Space Hymn- I'll play that some day.
"GREAT show!"
NOW you're talking, lol!
The City Boy song was pretty good.
I remember my next-to-youngest brother was a big fan of theirs.
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

The rat race is not working for me today.  I'm tired and I wanna go home.

I did think that first song was JT.  But no, it was LT.  Then Harry Nilsson.  Then Morphine?

I always thought that Dolly track was cool.  I've never seen the whole movie, just bits and pieces.  But my wife loves it.

The Kinks, now that was a cool song, but not as cool as the Elvis Costello track.  It's getting the Golden Pell.  He seems to get quite a few of those.  Maybe he's like Jethro Tull, as long as it's just a song or two I like it, but not necessarily a whole album?????  Who knows?

Pink Floyd is usually always a good choice.

Nice show Mike.

Hey! He DOES sound like James Taylor. Missed it the first time around, but listened again and he did.

Hey! It WAS from vinyl.

Hey! I need to pick up that Harry Nillson album.

Hey! That Morphine song was pretty good.

Hey! I saw "Nine To Five" when it was in theaters.

Hey! I have that Kinks album.

Hey! Not a big fan of Elvis Costello, but this song was decent.

Hey! You know how many times I've heard that Floyd song? Many. But for some reason, it sounded different here. Something seemed to be off and I first thought it was a cover.

Hey! That Lothar And The Hand People song is wicked cool. Wonder if Devo were fans? Found out for me.

Hey! GREAT show!

Hey! Here's a song about machines, thanks goes to Niels for introducing us to this band:
