ROCKOLLECTIONS: VOL.1- THE ORIGINALS PT.2

The simple continues.
Songs we know very well, Originally done by other solo artists or groups.
And I am pretty sure I have at least a couple of surprises in this Episode.
Notice I am calling this Volume 1.
That's because there are so many of these, I should be returning to The Originals in the vague future.
They are Educational, Interesting and Fun.
All good reasons to return!
If all goes according to plan, next week something very cool and timely.
But do enjoy this one!

Here we go:

Doo Wah Diddy Diddy - Although I must go with Manfred's version, I do like the original, especially the drum sound.  Sounds like the drummer is hitting an old metal trash can, love it.  Anyway, I can't hear the original without thinking of Stripes.

I Go To Pieces -  I thought this was The Everly Brothers.  But Peter & Gordon's version is great.  I'll take it over Del Shannon.

The Twist - Gotta go with Chuck on this one.

Whole Lotta Shaking Going On - Again, must go with Jerry Lee.  But I did enjoy Big Maebell's version.

Something Stupid - This is a really nice song.  Both versions are terrific.  So much so that I will have to call it a draw.

Damn that Manfred Mann. Damn them! Not only did they mess with your mind on this song, they also had something wrapped up like a douche on a later song. PLAYING WITH OUR MINDS!

And your own....what? Mondigreeme? What? Too big of a word for simpletons like me.

I liked The Exciters version a bit better, just burned out on the MM version I suppose.

I liked Peter & Gordon better, doesn't sound as old as the second version.

I dunno, I never liked the twist. Found it silly. The songs are allright, I guess, but The Twist was kinda silly if you watch it. Many injuries were sustained, I can tell you that! It also set am injury record.

Jerry Lee Lewis was a better version. Quincy Jones was alive back then? He's gotta be like 110 years old now!

BOth version of the last song sounded about the same, no really pick there. They're both good but want me to have a cocktail and a cigar.
