So what are you listening to right now? Any genre is cool.
For me:

Depeche Mode - Wrong (courtesy of Niels)
Kim Mitchell - Akimbo Alogo (courtesy of Jon)
Next week's Album of the Week (hint: think orchestra)
Shinedown - The Sound of Madness

Instrumentals, eh?
Tough cookies to sell, but I like 'em, and there is a story behind it too. Hard Rock / Heavy Metal was my preferred music style since 1980, but even then, it was the solo parts that made this genre stand out for me.
When I heard Gary Moore performing the Instrumental version of Parisian Walkways, that sealed the deal. Soon I was looking for other guitar Instrumentals, but all I could find was Al DiMeola / John McLaughlin / Paco DeLucia albums. Not bad to be fair, but not what the doctor ordered either. It wasn't until 1988 when my cousin recommended Joe Satriani's "Surfing With The Alien", and my uncle introduced me to Yngwie J. Malmsteen's "Rising Force", that I realized the Heavy Metal guitar Instrumental revolution has finally begun. Those 2 albums were gifted to me, and Marty Friedman's "Dragon Kiss" was my first purchase of the ilk. Even though it was the golden era of Guitar Instrumentals the Magazines I read weren't playing part in its popularization.
I knew I had to adopt if I wanted to stay up-to-date on what's happening in the field. I figured I was better off following record labels who put out the albums I liked, rather than artists who might or might not fart rainbows. Shrapnel Records was leading the way, but there were other companies helping to spread the "word". "Speaking" of which, perhaps I should mention that at one point in mid '90s, nearly 2/3 of my collection consisted of Instrumental CDs. Since then vocal albums substantially outnumbered the competition, however, it's still rewarding to hear a well-executed voiceless project. This "later pile" is not all guitar Instrumentals, nor are they all Hard and Heavy. Other instruments and genres also have value to me.
And... like always, let's set the tone with an appropriate quote:
“ If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music.
I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music. ...
I get most joy in life out of music. ”
— Albert Einstein

It's 2021 and we have a comment that mentions adoption and farting rainbows...after 2020, that sounds about right.
But seriously, I have never much been into instrumental albums though there are some instrumental songs that I like. I almost bought a stack of Satriani cds the other day but I held off. Maybe one day...
I have a number of Joe Satriani albums and while I hadn't listened to them in a while, I went back and listened to a number of them a while back and found that I got to rediscover the joy I had in them when they were first purchased.
