RJ'S VINYL BARGAINS VOLUME 1

Welcome to my new blog.  I'm ripping off TageRyche's Cassette Chronicles, but at least I'm crediting him.  This will be a recurring blog covering my bargain vinyl purchases only, no CD's or other types of media.  I'll listen to a few of the albums and report here what I got and how much I paid.

Savoy Brown - Hellbound Train (1972 - Parrot)

Cost -…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: 1967 AND SUMMER OF LOVE PT.2

I started this 2nd half of the show with a song I thought of because of the weather.

As the song was playing however, I realized just how broad a topic this was- I had picked a YEAR...1967!

Not just ANY year, but one with a massive amount of Music of all types to…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: BLUE AND LONESOME PT.3

I’ll pick it up where we left off last week with Track 9 of the latest Rolling Stones album, Blue And Lonesome.

Preceded naturally by the Original version.

The  Stones got their start in the 60’s playing Blues covers, before they were almost forced to write new material!

And it shouldn’t surprise anyone that they can still…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: BLUE AND LONESOME PT.1

The newest Rolling Stones album came out just last December, Blue And Lonesome.

They went back to their Roots as a Blues Band when they started out in the 60’s.

It’s their only album to feature ALL Cover Songs.

I thought it would be interesting to compare the Original Blues Songs with the Rolling Stones…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: 4TH OF JULY 2017 PT.2

It is America's 241st Birthday, on the day the Declaration Of Independence was approved and ratified, July 4th, 1776.

Older than me, but I'm pretty damned independent too!

So don't get in the way of my Freedom Of Speech, lol!

After a couple of Songs, we'll return to Stan Freberg…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: 4TH OF JULY 2017 PT.1

Well the 4th Of July hasn't fallen on a Tuesday since 2009.

Incidentally, if you ever wondered, July 4th, 1776 was a Thursday.

I'll start with a cut that is not easy to find by the…

Some more Red Music, and by no means am I trying to play The Greatest Red Songs Of All Time.

ROCKOLLECTIONS: THE RED SHOW PT.1

This was one of those times I sat down to do a show and had nothing in mind.

ROCKOLLECTIONS: MONTEREY POP AT 50 PT.1

This weekend marks the 50th Anniversary of the Monterey Pop Festival, held June 16-18, 1967, dates oddly mirroring this coming weekend.

50 YEARS AGO? Why am I always shocked, lol?

For some perspective, this…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: DOCTOR VISIT PT.8 END

This is it, time to put a cork on the Doctor Visit.

We’ve seen multiple Doctors, had many Ailments, Tests, Medications and more.

It’s Time The Healing Began!

Special thanks to a friend named Michael for sending me The Druids, with a song I was not familiar with.

Thanks for coming along for all or part of…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: DOCTOR VISIT PT.7

I played Allergies last week and was attacked by them- damn weakling I am, lol!

I'll start with an Adult Section, then a case of Heebie Jeebies and Nerves.

And finally get around to the matter of Pills.

Then it's time for a Compound Fracture.

Can't grow up without a Broken Bone!

The Final Episode after this will let the Healing Begin.

Can I get…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: DOCTOR VISIT PT.6

This lighthearted look at Maladies that might cause a Doctor Visit continues.

And someday I will do the same with Death Series, if I live long enough, lol!

All of these can be treated at a Hospital, some exclusively.

In the case of Allergies, I've got song lyrics that describe one in the most awful way possible, "Something is living on my…
