NEW (& CLASSIC) VIDEOCORNER#11(EUROPE, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, DOKKEN & MÖTLEY CRÜE)

Europe has released a new music video for the track “Not Supposed to Sing the Blues” which appears on the band’s upcoming LP “Bag of Bones” album due out in April 2012. We've heard the song in SMASH OR TRASH, but what do you think of the video?

Five Finger Death Punch is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California .American Capitalist is the third studio album by them, and this single was released last year, but I haven't seen it before. Sorry about the "cookie Monster vocals", or what it is, you call it, but get it a chance, even you, Scott.

I've just listened to the first Dokken-album, and it doesn't sound good nowadays. This is from the last sort of okay good Dokken-album. I saw them on tour in '88.

I thought, we'd better have a Mötley Crüe-video, now with the upcoming tour with KISS. Enjoy, if you can.

The Europe song is started to grow on me. I liked it better, this listen. I remember liking this Dokken song & thinking the video was really cool, watching on Head Banger's Ball. Looking at it now, I found it difficult to watch. Yeah,  Don Dokken, there are some memories, you just don't want lingering around
& That video is one of them. I really, didn't even care for the song as much as I remember, eventhough I did like George Lynch's guitar playing, eventhough the video looked as if they had a contractual obligation to give him as much FaceTime as Don Dokken. I still like listening to Alone Again & Tooth & Nail!

The link was broken on the FFDP, so I looked on you tune & found this Monster tune & it definitely had the Cookie Monster vocals you described. The melody & music were an ok listen, but the vocals were somewhat distracting.
The link for the Motley Crüe was broken also. Which song did you post?

I posted "Looks That Kill".

I had to post the FFDP-video, 'cause of the "slapping" of the "director" in the beginng

I hate those vocals as well, but the "chorus" was alright, I guess.

Tooth & Nail is a pretty good album. Once upon a time, I thought it was excellent, but it sounds a little bit dated nowadays. Under Lock And Key and Back For The Attack has a couple of good tracks, but then that's it for me!!

Too bad, that it happens a lot these days, that some of the video's I post, none of you can see, but you did exactly the right thing, Mike!!! You went on YouTube, and found the video. Now, if only others were as bright as you

The links worked on my computer, so maybe it was just a unavailable on my phone. I actually, pulled up FFDP's, "Meet The Monster". I liked this video better, eventhough it still had the Cookie Monster or Big Bad Wolf vocals.

The Dokken song actually sounds better, if you don't watch the video. Like TageRyche, I too am an uabashed fan of 80's metal. So, that's why I like the Motley Crue as well. It's the music, I grew up on!

EUROPE ... 3 Danish with a spot of Tea

I liked the lyrics, pretty cool references in there!  And this is growing on me as well.  Much better than the first time I heard it.

FFDF ... 0 danish

Did you hear the one about how I loathe this style?

DOKKEN ... 1 Danish with a bite taken out of it

Its still OK, held up better than most of their work.

MOTLEY CRUE ... 2 Cheese Danishes

I used to love this riff and its still kind of cool, but nowhere near as cool as it was in the early 80's.  Also thought Shout was the best Crue album, now I think its Too Fast For love, and by a huge margin!  All said this is still OK for me.

Thanks Niels!

Your friend,

Scott "WhatsYouTube"

The site, that no longer posts official videos.

Just listened to the "Too Fast For Love"-album, and I totally agree with you, my friend Scott"WhatsYouTube".

Try and say your new name fast 10 times!! And no, don't say "your new name fast 10 times", Jon.

As an unabashed fan of 80's metal I loved the Dokken and Motley Crue videos.

The Europe video is kind of run of the mill. But it was the first time I heard the song. It's decent.

Europe--4 danii

Still like this song. I am sooooo thankful I didn't have "Final Countdown" flashbacks while watching the video because then I would have had to dock it a hundred + danii. Everyone voted this STASH or TRASH before and now they're coming around, cause I am the puppetmaster!!!!

Five Finger Death Punch--2 danii

Kind of a childish song, but like the riffage and the video was funny, especially the slap at the beginning and the..CATFIGHT! CATFIGHT! CATFIGHT! During some parts I thought I was watching an old rap video. Don't know why.

Dokken--0 danii

Damn. I can't stand this band. Double damn. That video sucked. Actually, there's two songs I like by this band, and this definitely ain't one of 'em. Neither is that song about chains. Flames & Chains. Sounds like a D&D group.

Snotty Spew--2 danii

Back then I thought this was da bomb. And the more I listened, I decided that it was just ok.  Video is an almost perfect example of 80's cheese, so one danish for the song and one danish for the video.

I still think it's TRASH!

Europe (4 Danishes)

I dig it.  Their last couple of albums have been pretty dang good.  This song almost reminds me of the type of song Black Country Communion is doing these days.  The guitar playing and drumming are both quite good on this.  And like Scott, I like the shout-outs to the classic rock songs.  I'll definitely pick this up.  Need to double check the release date.  Oh yeah, I think the video is pretty good too.

FFDP (3 Danishes)

I don't like CM vocals either, but for some reason, this band's vocals I can deal with.  I also have all three of their albums including this one.  I think the first two are pretty good, but I don't care for this one.  This song is probably the best one on the album.  However, I will never, ever, ever have a problem with bikini clad chicks and cool cars in music videos.

Dokken (4 Danishes)

I like Dokken too.  This isn't one of my favorite Dokken tunes, but I still like it.  Otherwise, it would have gotten 5 Danishes that would have been covered in cheese.  Cheese doesn't make it bad.

Motley Crue (5 Danishes)

This is even cheesier.  But it's also better.  This is the Crue's second best album to me.  I think the songs are just as good as the songs on Too Fast For Love.  But this is too produced when compared to TFFL.  I'd really love to hear these songs with the exact same "lack of production" that exists on TFFL.  And the video makes me think of Lick It Up and All Hell's Breakin' Loose by Kiss.
