Not a long comment here today because I downloaded the show to my iPod and listened on the go. But I really enjoyed this show. I love a good history lesson, verbally and musically.
I liked that first song by The Ravens, and was gonna give it the Golden Pell...until you played that Joe Jackson song. That was way cool. I think you said it was on the album I'm The Man. I may have to check that one out.
All good music and spoken material today bud. I'll hopefully get to listen to the next part this afternoon.
I have listened to some of those RMT's and they are surprisingly good.
Nice going with the Met announcers, and I saw Kiner just over a week ago, as he was calling a game with the regular guys.
He's 89 I think and sounds it, but he still had great stories I never heard before and terrific insight into the game.
You can listen to all the RMT's on the web. I was looking for the station that it was played on, it was AM, out of New York and it also broadcast Met games if I remember correctly during the days of Ralph, Bob and Lindsey.
Man, I have to start again....
The beginning started of really bassy. It almost blew my speakers, lucky for you I turned down the volume or you would have received a bill!
Fast Times At Ridgemont High!
As I listen to The Ravyns, I wonder if you'll play songs from Rush, The Kinks, Elvis Costello and The Clash. Maybe even The Clash? I think you played that Kinks song I'm talking about before, but it would fit in quite nicely, so I say.
Isn't Joe Jackson's debut album a classic? The followup ain't to shabby, but that debut is one of the greatest debuts.
Jack Benny pronounces the word "drama" weirdly. THIS BROADCAST IS REACHING ME!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought that was the beginning of a Dexy Midnight Runner song. It wasn't. But listen to the beginning of "Come On Eileen" and the beginning of that Jac Benny bit, and they're the same!
Paint my imagination, man! I'm trying to bring back the fireside chat and bridge, but am failing miserably.
You know what I miss from radio? "Radio Mystery Theater". It was played on an AM station out of NY. Think I mentioned this before as well, but am mentioning it again.
They had elections back then? Wonder if their chads hung.
Good ole-timey banjoing. How quaint?
Best show ever? Nope. It's the Bonds. Deal with it.
