ROCKOLLECTIONS: VOL1- THE ORIGINALS PT.1

It's a simple show.
There are many songs we know very well, maybe were Big Hits.
And some were Originally done first by other solo artists or groups.
In some of these cases, that is a big surprise, unknown to us.
In other cases, we know or have heard about these Originals.
That's it, I'll be playing them...easy as that.
One great memory, there is a version of a Folk Ballad in here with such great Acoustic Guitar that Engineer Ken Stanley and I flipped over it.
It just arrived at the station one day, unexpected and a real find.
Enjoy!

Jon,
But Bob Dylan got the Golden Pell, lol!
Ever the contrarian!
Rod Stewart over Sam Cooke...interesting!
Josh Rouse did some great guitar work on Rising Sun, and his voice ain't bad either, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

RJ,
Yes it's a repeat from a few years ago.
I'm with you, The Young Rascals, Sam Cooke and The Animals, lol!
Surprising, Dylan gets the Golden Pell- that's from his very first album.
No technicalities, it's your award, lol!
That Josh Rouse version blew us away, a CD single that just showed up and I took it home!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

I liked every version here, except for Bob Dylan. It just didn't sound right to me.

But, if I had to choose, it would be The Rascals, Rod Stewart and The Animals. Probably because they had a harder edge to them, but the Joss Rausch (or however you spell his name) was really good as well.

Now for part 2!

I think this is a repeat, right?

Even if, it was a cool show.

I'll take The Young Rascals, Sam Cooke and The Animals.  However, all three of those versions of House of the Rising Sun were fantastic.  Dylan's was so good that I'll give him the Golden Pell (technically, if it's a repeat and I've heard it, that isn't legal, since I've heard it).  But since I can't remember, he get's it.  The acoustic guitar on that last track, like you pointed out, was awesome.
