RJ,
Well it's risky because the songs are probably unknown AND are not killer rockers, lol!
Doing my own thing daring maniac that I am!
Mike
Hey Mike! Timely topic! Your quite the planner
You know that Im not a big Elvis fan, but thats doesnt seem to stop you! hahaha, all kidding aside, the track you chose is cool because I break into that chorus all the time. It comes in handy in almost all my conversations with my wife and my mother...
Love the Paul Simon track. I think RJ cheated when got this one... Simons music so rich and lush. THe songs sound so simple but if you listen they are very complex. He really is a master ...
Carly Simon is a great choice. Is it just me or is she just damn sexy!? I will answer that for myself, its not just me, she is in fact DAMN SEXY!
Great show as usual Mike!!!
How in the world did I forget That's Alright Mama by Elvis? I can't believe it. I liked the story about where you got this rare gem, a TV Guide I believe you said. I remember the old cereal boxes that had a cut out 45 on the back. I remember getting one from Bobby Goldsboro, but I couldn't begin to remember what the song was or which cereal box it came off of.
I correctly predicted Mother And Child Reunion by Mr. Simon, but then again I knew you'd play him. And it was a great choice.
The song Momma by BJ Thomas was cool, at least lyrically.
You kinda lost me on the next 3, John Lennon, Carly Simon and Melanie. I didn't really care for those, but they certainly fit the theme. That's just another example of me being me and not being flexible with the music.
But you reeled me back in with Sylvia's Mother. What a great song by Dr. Hook. You can just hear the anguish in the singer's voice. Great song.
Enjoyed it Mike.
First, I wanna say that I know a lot of mutha's that don't have babies.
I'm predicting:
Mother And Child Reunion - Paul Simon
Mother - Danzig
Baby Love - Mother's Finest
Mother's Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys - Willie Nelson
and
something by Mother Love Bone
of course, the smileys are for the ones that have a snowball's chance in....you know where. I'm listening now.
