The new article in my series The Cassette Chronicles takes a look back at the 1991 debut Tuff album What Comes Around Goes Around. You can check it out via this Limelight Magazine.com link.

I was pretty much ignorant of Tuff as you were. I had the CD for 3 decades on my "later" pile before I listened to it, about 2 years ago. I went in with low expectations and that helped. The ballads (if I remember correctly 3) were dismissable, but the rest were actually better than the average Hair Metal sTUFF.
I ended up ripping 3 songs from my CD for my car-USB and I like listening to them. "Forever Yours" is what I refer to as what would Beatles sound like if they were a Hair Metal band.
"Spit Like This" is my favorite and it has some awesome guitar tricks.
And the closing "Good Guys..." which is a great well... closing track.
And yes, the outro of the opening track does not blend well, but a great idea, nonetheless.
