It is with regret that Judas Priest announce that K.K. DOWNING has formally retired from the band and will therefore not be joining them on their forthcoming EPITAPH Tour.

The band respect his decision and naturally all wish him well.

Interesting timing seeing that the band was ready to embark on their Epitaph tour.  Something doesnt smell right in Priestville.

I can't say that I'm a Priest fan, but I certainly wish him and the band well.

THis is kinda interesting because a couple months ago they said they were done. And now they're not.
I thought they said they would be going on the final tour, then be done?
This caught me offguard because the Priest are one of my favorite bands. I agree with Scott that something doesn't sound right. This was supposed to be their final world tour and they were going to record an album as well. It would strike me and this is purely speculation of being one of two things. One, there was some kind of falling out perhaps. However, at their age and all, I would think he would hang in there if that were the case. Second, and I hope this isn't the case, there is some kind of health issue with Ken or a family member. It might also explain why it was going to be the final tour. I hope I am entirely wrong and KK just decided to call it a day and enjoy life.
