This is actually pretty neat. I'm not big into comics at all, just curious what they're actually giving away for free.

All the comics being given away are listed on the website.

I pre-ordered and bought 10 copies apiece of 13 titles from my local comic shop to give out at Halloween. Today I picked up some other stuff as well.

That's pretty neat.  I don't read comics either, but I like what TR does with the comic books and Halloween.

My house rocks on Halloween. It's now known as "The House That Gives Out Comic Books".

Last year I had a guy come to my house with his kids that is an author of some sort of fantasy/scifi language book. He came to the neighborhood because he'd heard about me giving out comics.

I have over 300 books to give out each year, plus candy. And I theme the comics I give out if at all possible. Come up in a Star Wars costume, get a Star Wars comic. G.I. Joe costume, get a G.I. Joe comic. Last year, Captain America costumes got a Captain America comic. I've had Buzz Lightyear's getting a Toy Story comic.

Dogs get doggie treats at my house. And especially good costumes get extra candy. Last year I had a kid show up dressed as Doctor Who. And when I asked which one, he said, "I'm the 9th Doctor!" He got extra candy for simply knowing what I meant.

Finally finished reading all the books I got for Free Comic Book Day.

I loved the Sonic The Hedgehog book (as usual, the book is almost always one of the best reads each year)

I was looking forward to the Buffy and Serenity books. While not bad, the Buffy story had a glaring story weakness that was left unexplained and the art on the Serenity story was terrible.

But one book I read was so good that I added it to my pull list. It is the series called Bad Medicine and it starts this month or next. A mystery story from Oni Press Comics, the first issues was the company's FCBD giveaway. I wasn't sold completely on the artwork but the story more than made up for it.

Serenity? As in Firefly?

Yes that would be it.
