50 years on, this will close the British Invasion out...for now.
It was too much fun and the Music was too damn good to just drop it completely.
So I will return to it periodically.
But for this Chapter, I'll start with a song that was # 8 on the Billboard charts in 1965.
And I don't seem to have ever heard it!
How'd that happen, lol?
From there, some assorted and…

As I write this, 50 years ago tonight, Feb. 9th 1964, the Beatles performed on the Ed Sullivan Show for the first time.
I watched it as a kid, and it's an odd feeling knowing what you did PRECISELY on a given date a half century ago!
In fact, it's never…

As noted before, 50 years ago on Feb. 7th 1964, the Beatles landed at Kennedy Airport met by reporters and mostly screaming girls, and Beatlemania and The British Invasion commenced to be born.
Those two terms may seem interchangeable now, but I'll point out the difference.…

50 years ago on Feb. 7th 1964, the Beatles arrived at Kennedy Airport here in New York, marking the beginning of Beatlemania and The British Invasion.
Also making a whole lot of people feel very old this week, lol!
As it happened, I didn't like their…

Since I did them backwards, the Past is last, in these Past Present and Future shows.
And I discovered a remarkable song from a most unlikely source while gathering songs for this Series.…

Sorry for the delay, I had weather-related computer problems.
To open this Chapter of the Past Present and Future, I have one for the couple of people who thought a song I played previously sounded dated.
A different singer, however it's the same song and it is…

If you are just joining us, since the beginning of the New Year, I have been playing songs about the Past Present and Future.
I started with the Future, and now we are firmly in the Present.
Or as it is also known,…

Continuing happily along with this Past Present and Future Series, we are right where we belong, in the Present,
And I'll have some Musical Recommendations for Living In The Present.
Sometimes it's risky business, but we all do…

It is early in the year, and my musical look at the Past, Present and Future rolls along, just like in real life.
A couple of songs about the Future to begin, then one that you will surely know, that sounds like it should be about the Future, just by its title alone.…

It's Music for the Past, Present and Future, continuing with the Future.
The main thing to tell you about this Chapter is that 2...TWO... songs I thought of while planning the Series I couldn't find.
As in I don't HAVE…

I'll start this opening episode off with a few more songs to Ring In The New Year!
Then, taking that thought about a new year prompting Reflections On Life, I will greatly expand on it.
Bringing us the beginning of a new Theme Series- songs about the Past, Present and Future.…

I sure hope that hungover feeling and that throbbing, alcohol-soaked head make you feel like 2014 is going to be GREAT, LOL!
Grab a hot coffee packed with caffeine and join me as we listen to Songs Of Life on this Lazy First Day Of The Year.
Here's my prediction for you for this coming year: Before it is over, there will really good moments and really bad moments!

It occurred to me that there are certain times of the year that you think about Life.
Birthdays are one, certainly the beginning of a New Year is another.
You take a look backwards at where you've been, and a look ahead at what may be coming up in your Life.
And a Theme was born!
Early on, you'll hear a song that I cannot…

Alright, it's back in the low 30's temperature-wise in New York, and that is proper- it feels like Christmas.
As I mentioned in the first half, I don't remember this show ever falling on December 24th.
So Christmas Eve is the Theme.…

First off, it almost hit 70 degrees today in New York City...that's just not right!
I have the fan on now, lol!
Next, while thinking about a Theme for this year’s Christmas shows, I saw that the second week's terrestrial broadcast would fall on Christmas Eve.
And oddly, I don't remember the show ever falling on December 24th.
So the Theme for these next two halves is in fact Christmas Eve.
ALL the songs I play will…

We begin this 2nd half with a song that is not a Christmas song at all.
But so Joyous it seemed right to play.
Then a quick 180, with a song by Tracy Newman and the Reinforcements that made Dolly Parton cry!
After that, an annual tradition, the Beatle Christmas Message to…

When I started to do this show, it occurred to me now in 2013, that it was at Christmastime in 2009 when I launched the official name change to Rockollections, complete with a new theme song.
I was never happy with that old name Rock Lives, and I wasn’t the one who picked it.
Nothing else changed- even to this day I am the same guy, and have continued to play my somewhat eclectic choices of…

Finishing up with our Odds & Ends, something the late Scott McKenzie, of San Francisco (Be Sure To Wear Flowers in Your Hair) fame, did with his Music that to my knowledge was unique, and went extremely undetected by listeners.
He re-wrote the same song 3 times in the course of his life!…
