The big 15th Anniversary has come and gone.
I had the shocking thought that I started in 1998...the last CENTURY, lol!
In the mid-60's, the Radio Advertising Bureau hired Stan Freberg to do a series of Ads touting the benefits of…

Well this is as close as I can come to my October 20th 15th Anniversary without shooting past it.
I said this Series would be emotional, so what better way to Celebrate than with the emotions Disappointment and Anger, lol?
Why not, what with the long ago…

I had computer problems last week at the worst possible time- for of all the Themes for Series I have picked over the 15 years, Radio is the one I am most passionate about.
I wrote, "if only computers were as dependable as Radio"- something I have felt for a long time.
Thus an idea was born...and I will use Music to…

Sorry, no NEW show this week, my computer was in the shop and one couldn't be done.
I'll pick it back up from where we left off next week though.
And I PROMISE you that during the span of this Salute To Radio Series, you will hear things you have never heard before.
You will hear things that haven’t been played on the radio in…

As the 15th Anniversary approaches, I wonder if I can do 20?
Seems far away, but I sure have a lot ideas I haven't gotten to.
And hey, I was wrong when I wrote in the opening half that I would be playing one of the…

It's A Salute To Radio, marking my 15th Anniversary in a few weeks of doing a regular weekly show at the same Radio Station!
I did something similar to this 5 years ago for the 10th Anniversary.
In actual fact, I started there on August 25, 1998 as a Fill-In guy, but by October 20th 1998 I had The Rock Show, so that's why I am doing…

It's time I mentioned Ian Fleming, the author of the novels and stories the Bond Industry has been built on.
I read many of them, and Sean Connery was always the man I visualized as James Bond.…

Here's the 2nd half of a Return To The Summer Of Love or at least 1967, which I will do periodically.
This is a very good episode, with things you may not have ever heard or thought of in quite some time- and again, an authentic…

I thought for the Last Official Week Of Summer 2013, a Return To The Summer Of Love might be in order.
As I have said before, 1967 is my favorite year for what was breaking out all over the place in Music, and also…

Over the years for September 11th, I have explained that although the Pentagon was struck, songs about Washington D.C. are not many, and the ones you do come across are always about the government- usually with some sort of protest or humor.
Then there is United 93,…

I am going to open up this last half of Back To Back To School with a question.
A question regarding Teachers who use propaganda to brainwash kids, and although the song is from 1964, the situation has never been worse than it is today.
Then it is on to how maybe the reason I hated school was because when you think about it, the whole day for a kid revolves around it, and being told what to do.
So quickly the Rebel comes…

This was the 3rd week's show in a Series I was doing before I was so rudely interrupted in September 2009.
Never one to waste an idea, I had added songs by 2010, and a different time in free-form radio brings different results.
NO songs from 2009 will be repeated- all distinct selections for this 2010!
It is that most awful time of year again, resulting in going Back To Back To School,…

Dispatch from somewhere in New England.
Wrapping things up from that end of August 2006 Summer Theme series, I had 17, yes SEVENTEEN, songs left over that went unplayed.
Damn time constraints are killing me.
I had planned a musical side trip to the water- the beach, etc.
Ah well, maybe next…

Coming in with this one a little early, it's Next Week This Week!
I am on vacation and want to see if it works.
I'll open up this chapter from the 2006 shows, with a couple of funky summer classics and our annual playing of All Summer Long.
Then I…

Picking up where we left off in that scorching Summer of ‘06, we continue with Long Hot Summer music.
Then we have 2 songs I have always felt went together.
But it wasn’t until I actually played them back to back, that I realized how astonishingly similar they are stylistically, musically, and vocally.
If that’s not enough, they both have two-word titles- and share the…

Richie Havens wanted his ashes to be scattered at the site of the historic Woodstock Festival, where his opening performance made him an icon 44 years ago last weekend.
Sunday, August 18, there was a memorial celebration with John Hammond, John Sebastian, and others at 3 p.m.
Following the…

Here is something I did in the Summer of 2006- a particularly brutal summer, surpassed only by July this year.
This was my First Annual Summer Lollapalooza- and so far the only, lol!
In this first of 4 parts, we begin with as ROCKING a set of music as I have ever opened with.
Then the best song ever about…
